It's Bigger Than You · The Plant-Based Tour
I'm on Salt Spring Island right now. The world tour comes next.
I'm a musician on a backpack tour, turning plants into music for burnt-out nervous systems. Some of these places are hard to reach, so I go there, record them, and bring the place to you. Put your name on the map, tell the globe what you need, and meet your plant. This video shows the whole world tour. It starts here on Salt Spring with two trees, and your pick shows me what people need more of. At 100 names, I draw a winner live.
Bigleaf Maple for focus or Arbutus for creativity. Your pick tells me what you need more of and decides which song makes the album.
Land on another Salt Spring plant, matched to what you need right now.
Land on one of the 12 stops, from Central Park to Everest. Where you land shows me where to go next.
Spin for as many friends as you like. Every friend who claims their spot gives you another entry in the draw.
The Salt Spring in C Draw
C is 100. At 100 names, I draw one.
Put your name on the map and you're in. Spin for friends, and every friend who claims their spot gives you another entry. Two winners, max: the name drawn, plus the one friend who brought them. So if a friend you brought gets drawn, you win right alongside them. Each winner gets the whole package:
- A full custom soundtrack: your plant's biosonification, a live soundscape and a neuroacoustic dose, built from a muscle-testing session, with your voice or a poem woven in and an extra revision round.
- A year as a Founding member of my Substack: the full library and the monthly live Listening Room.
- A deluxe CD of Salt Spring in C: a custom edition in a fancy-pants deluxe case, signed and mailed to you before Christmas.
Put your name on the map. That's your first entry.
Spin for a friend and send them their plant. When they claim their spot, you get another entry.
At 100 names or on Nov 25, I draw one name live. That person wins, plus the friend who brought them. Everyone else gets a runner-up award.
No purchase or tip needed, and tips never change your odds. 18+, excluding Quebec. Full rules.
Your picks
You're on the map
Here's where your spins landed. Lock them in, then back the live stop to put your name in the album credits and help make this dream come true.
Optional · the Salt Spring tip jar
Want to keep it going?
Tips are optional and never change your odds in the draw. Every tip from now to December 31 goes to stop one, and puts your name in the album credits. When it hits the goal, I book the flight.
The route · 2027 to 2028
12 plants, 12 places, one album
One stop opens at a time, closest first, timed to each plant's season. Two songs for each state: grounding, calm, creativity, focus, deep rest and energy. Tap a stop to fly there.

Build your song
Build a song from a plant
Every song starts with the same three layers: biosonification (your plant's own living signals turned into sound), a live soundscape recorded where it grows, and a neuroacoustic dose tuned to what you need. Build yours below, watch the estimate, and get a quote. Nothing to pay here.
What do you need?
Pick up to three. They shape the neuroacoustic dose.
How many songs?
Add extras
Masters and two revision rounds come with every song.
Your estimate, three ways
All prices in USD. Final pricing is confirmed on our call. On-the-route travel starts at $111; far-flung or risky places carry an adventure rate, also quoted on the call.

The rules
Plain terms, before you tip
Your money
- Every dollar raised for a stop goes to that stop.
- Each stop gets a month to fund. Hit the goal and I go. Fall short and the stop stays open into the next month, every dollar still on it.
- Your credit is yours the moment you tip, whatever happens with the stop.
- Tips back the tour. A custom song is its own order.
Being a good guest
- I take nothing from the plant. I record it and leave it as I found it.
- I ask permission at protected and sacred sites and follow local filming rules.
- I learn each plant's story from the people who live with it, and credit them on the track.
- A share of each stop's tips goes to a local land or conservation group there.
The Salt Spring in C Draw: official rules
- Run by Mike The Schwartz (Michael Schwartz). No purchase or tip is needed to enter or win, and tips do not change your odds.
- Open to people 18 and older everywhere, excluding residents of Quebec and anywhere this draw is prohibited.
- Enter by putting your name on the map on this page: one entry per person. Each friend who claims their spot from your personal link, or names you in "Who sent you here?", gives you one more entry.
- The draw closes at 11:59 pm Pacific on November 25, 2026, or when 100 names are on the map, whichever comes first.
- Within 3 days of closing, one entry is drawn at random, live. The person drawn and the one person whose link or name brought them (if any) each win. A win passes one step only, from the person drawn to the one person who brought them, so each draw has two winners at most. Each winner receives: one custom soundtrack with a muscle-testing session, voice or poem and one extra revision round (US$1,932); a one-year Founding membership of Mike's Substack (US$449); and a deluxe Salt Spring in C CD, mailed before December 25, 2026. Approximate retail value US$2,420 each. Odds depend on the number of entries.
- Winners answer a skill-testing question and give a mailing address before the prize is awarded, and are contacted by email. Unclaimed after 7 days, a new name is drawn.
- Everyone else who entered gets a runner-up award: US$333 off a custom song, good for 7 days after the draw.
- Your name may appear on the map and in credits. Your email is used for the draw, and for the tour diary only if you said yes.
